Do Squirrels Hibernate?

It’s that time of the year …when the falling snow and bitterly cold temperatures drive people indoors.

Wild animals spend a lot of time in shelters as well.  Raccoons can hole up for days at a time.  Groundhogs are in a state of hibernation.  Squirrels, however, are out and about.  Squirrels do not hibernate.

Squirrels will take advantage of free heating you provide for them. They may delay their forays outside under truly bitter conditions, but they will be out sooner rather than later.

We have all witnessed squirrels outside bouncing from tree to tree and running up and down tree trunks. Those same squirrels, with their boundless energy, will release that energy inside your attic or crawlspace when it is too cold outside. When you are stuck inside your home during the bitter cold winter days, you not only get to deal with cabin fever, but you also get the privilege of dealing with these rambunctious creatures bouncing and banging around in your attic.

Here’s something to think about: In a few weeks, breeding season starts and you’ll have even more animals to deal with! So, give Frontline Animal Removal a call and we can take care of your problem now before it multiplies.
