Raccoons in Attic Two Ways
Raccoons are opportunists who really seem to like attics.
At each job where we find raccoons in the attic we always find variations on the same theme: raccoons took advantage of some weakness they found. Sometimes these raccoons opportunities are obvious and other times they are hard to find.
Today we share an obvious entry caused by a raccoon damaging roofing elements and we share a more subtle raccoon entrance.
Obvious or hidden, Frontline Animal Removal will find out how the raccoons are getting inside, remove them, and keep others from getting inside again.
Obvious Raccoon | Forced Entry
Raccoons are strong. Therefore, they oftentimes just force their way into an attic at a spot they can get through by ripping, tearing, or chewing.
This raccoon decided to pick on a soil stack boot. After it ripped the soft rubber, the raccoon then enlarged the hole in the decking that the pipe came up through.
Here are a couple of videos which show the situation.
As you saw, the raccoon forced its way in. To remove it, Ryan trapped at its way in and out.
A More Subtle Entry
At other jobs, where raccoons are getting in is not as easy to identify. Yet, with some observation and detective work, most raccoon situations can be figured out.
At a recent job, a raccoon was getting into a ceiling of a bathroom. With no obvious entrances as in the example above on the the roof, Ryan looked all around.
