Remove & Repair to Stop Squirrels

At Frontline Animal Removal, we do two things for customers in the Akron, Canton, Kent area:

Since it’s in our name: animal removal is a given.

Yet, in the industry of nuisance animal removal, the actual removal of nuisance wild animals is only half of the battle.

Today, we again highlight removal and repair combination.

First Step : Remove the Squirrels

After recognizing there is a squirrel problem, the first step is to remove the squirrels.

This is accomplished by live trapping the squirrels.  If the squirrels are not removed, just excluded, they will work very hard to get back in.

Finding where they  enter/exit the house is key for this step.

In the video example below, Ryan shows you the spot where the squirrels were getting in.

Traps are set up around any entrances.  One-way door traps over the exits, catch squirrels that were inside and try to get out.

At the same time, box traps on the outside cature squirrels coming to the entry point looking to get in.

Once squirrels have been removed and there are no longer any signs of them being inside, repairs can begin.

Squirrel Repairs

The repair of animal damage is arguably even more important than the actual animal removal as the repair or exclusion keeps future animals out.

For example, the picture to the left shows a squirrel hole that was chewed through aluminum and wood.

Trapping the offending squirrels out is important.  But, fixing this hole the right way prevents future animals (and water) from getting into the structure.

So, once you have the pest squirrels managed through trapping and removal, it is time to make a nice repair.

Too often, repair/exclusion is done without removal and the squirrels work their way right back in to what they view as a safe habitat.
