Guano inside indicates the bats have found their way into attic and are roosting here as well.
Standard practice of builders is to punch a hole in sheeting for chain so crane can lift sheeted gable truss into place. Hole provides entry into attic from soffit because of mistakes outside.
Once the inspection is complete, colony type and size is known and a plan for bat removal and structural shoring up can be formulated.
