Fall Raccoon Invasion Akron Canton Area

Every year at the end of summer and the beginning of Fall, raccoons begin to move back into attics.

Now that it is fall, attics are cool and comfortable for raccoons.

Raccoons in urban and suburban areas have learned to look for loose and improperly installed soffits on people’s homes. These animals have learned to push up or pull down on the loose soffits to gain entry into homes and businesses.

Once inside, raccoons will defecate and soil where they have invaded. Raccoon feces often carries the eggs of parasites that can infect humans and pets.

Another place of invasion for a raccoon is an uncapped chimney. Under the right circumstances a raccoon could create a blockage in a chimney which would force exhaust gases or smoke into a home. Carbon monoxide poisoning is possible if the chimney becomes blocked. Raccoons can also gain access into a building by pulling apart rotten fascia boards, damaged/deteriorating roofs and areas of poor construction.

If you are hearing noises in your attic or chimney/fireplace and suspect some creature is freeloading above your head, Give Frontline Animal Removal shout and we will be happy to investigate those noises.
